what they are worth) to other web sites. All of these I feel will be
of use to those of you visiting my * Index Page * in
search of help, information and the like. Should you have details of other sites
that you deem would be of use to users of PCW's, CPC's and + 3's kindly e-mail
me the facts so I may check them out and if they are not offensive to anyone
they will be added.By now many of these web sites will have disappeared!

THE JOHN ELLIOTT HOMEPAGE.
Visit this Site for very useful PCW software upgrades plus you can download the famous 'Joyce' emulator and run your favourite PCW software on your PC (the software will, of course, need to be on a 3.5 inch disc) -- or you can obtain 'CP/M for the PcW16' and give this machine a new lease of life [all downloads are free!]-- Highly recommended! ---Also offered are links to other Web Sites which contain data of interest to CP/M users. Just click on the banner.
NOTE. You can use WinZip to download 'Joyce' but ensure that the 'Use Folder Names' box is ticked. You should be able to run 'Joyce', once installed on your PC from the MSDOS box in Win9x but if not you will need to re-boot your machine in the MSDOS mode.
UPDATE. A Windows version of Joyce is now available (for free).
JOYCE COMPUTER CLUB.
Many useful tips for repairing your PCW can be found on the Web Site of The Joyce Computer Club, plus other interesting PCW related data including photographs of machines and other hardware items.
This Dutch Club, based in Amsterdam, offer their Web pages in the English language. This Web Site has now been updated with illustrations of all the PCW 3.5 inch 720K disc drive machines. There is also a section of PCW items for sale -- you could find that wanted goodie! Well worth a visit! Click the banner for their homepage and start browsing.

It has been reported that this magazine is no longer being published and outstanding
disc subscriptions have not been refunded and that PCWToday editor Adrian Braddy
does not reply to correspondence, so take great care when sending any money!

Enter the Locoscript Software Web Site by using their banner to obtain the latest versions of Locoscript's PCW and PC products on line. Should you just want a replacement for a lost or corrupt disc
then these in many cases are still obtainable. View what is on offer now, much at lower prices. Help is also 'on tap' for those FAQ's regarding that sticky Locoscript related problem.

For those of you interested in the

ANSIBLE INFORMATION WEB SITE.
For those of you wishing to read from or write to your CP/M format discs (3.5
inch only) on an IBM or Clone PC need look no further as Ansible Information
offer their freeware utility program:
CPM.EXE
This runs under DOS 3.0 or higher. The data will need to be saved on the PCW in ASCII format prior to transporting to the PC. Please note if using WIN 95/98 you need to, after down loading the
CP/M.ZIP file, shut down your machine and reboot in 'MSDOS mode' unZIP and install. You will need to shut down and reboot in MS-DOS every time you use the program. There is no point when in Windows
95/98 going to the MS-DOS Prompt in your Program Files Box as CPM.EXE will not work!
A version of this program is available to run under WIN 95/98/ME/2000/XP but at a price. Use the Ansible banner to visit
their site and see which program suits your needs.
MICRODOS
Microdos is a program that enables CPC users with a 720K 3.5 inch disc drive,
fitted with a side switch, to make full use of the 720K capacity. This program
was awarded 65% in a review by Amstrad Action in February 1993 as compared to
Ramdos with 53% and 400K/S with 56%. The publisher is Mr. Ewen Flint who is able to help with queries . Click here for a detailed

UPDATE: This service has been discontinued, as from January 2001 and there is nobody at this moment in time I can recommend to undertake the salvage work on 3 inch discs -- my only advice is to search the web and take pot luck!

THE ZX SPECTRUM +3e HOMEPAGE
Visit this excellent site, maintained by Gary Lancaster, for information on adding a Hard Drive to your +3. This site also includes details of a Rom that offers an updated Operating System which fixes a number of bugs and adds some extra commands. Click on the banner to learn more.
