+3 TO CASSETTE TAPE UNIT LEAD
The lead detailed below will enable you to transfer data, either way, between your +3 and a Cassette Tape Unit. The ZX Spectrum +3 does not permit the use of a remote connection, so you will need to switch the cassette tape unit on and off as required.
- PARTS AND TOOLS REQUIRED
- 3.5mm Stereo Jack Plug
- 2 of 3.5mm Mono Jack Plugs
- 3 feet two core individually screened cable (two singled screen cables will do)
- 15 watt soldering iron
- Solder
- Multimeter
- Side cutters, long nosed pliers and a small screw driver (all of which can be found in any DIY tool box).
The setting of the volume (level) control on the cassette tape unit correctly is most important (spend some time experimenting), as this will enable the successful transfer of data both ways, thereby permitting, for example, those early cassette games to be saved to disc.
