CPC TO CASSETTE TAPE UNIT LEAD
With the use of the simple lead made up from the circuit offered below, you
can load from or save to cassette tapes, when it is plugged into a CPC6128 or
CPC646 at one end and a Cassette Tape Unit at the other. When making up the
lead find some way of colouring (use sleeving or coloured electrical tape?)
the two sections of the lead using the 3.5mm Jack plugs (Red for the MIC connection
and White for the EAR connection would seem to be the norm) so that you can
identify which is which.
- PARTS AND TOOLS REQUIRED
- 5 pin Male DIN Plug
- 2 of 3.5mm Mono Jack Plugs
- 2.5mm Mono Jack Plug
- 3 feet of three core cable with each individually screened (or use three single core screened cables)
- 15 watt soldering iron
- Solder
- Electrical tape.
- MultiMeter.
- Side cutters, long nosed pliers and a small screw driver (all of which can be found in any DIY tool box).
Your cassette tape unit does not need to have the remote socket but it does
make life much easier (you do not have to remember to switch on and off). The
correct setting of the volume (or level) control on the cassette tape unit will
make for successful data transfer, you will probably need to experiment to optimise
performance.
